2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, we outlined a three-week plan to unpack chapters 2 and 3 of 2 Thessalonians. The focus of Paul in these first 12 verses is on the coming of Jesus Christ at the Great Day of The Lord, distinguishing between the gathering of the Church and the Day of the Lord. We identify six key points about end times prophecy which we pulled and expounded on further from Paul’s address to the Thessalonian church which applies deeply also to the Church today; about navigating biblical prophecy and end times, explaining key terms like the 'falling away,' the 'man of sin,' and the 'restrainer.' Emphasis is placed on the importance of understanding these prophecies to avoid deception and maintain hope. The key to understanding the topics Paul address in 2 Thessalonians 2 and all topics of scripture is a heavy emphasis on the inerrancy of Scripture and the importance of all of Scripture within its context and in relation to the rest of Scripture.
