The just shall live by Faith.

This week we start a new series on God’s Making of His Covenant with Abraham. We explore the journey of Abraham from Ur to Canaan, emphasizing the foundation of faith and its essential role in understanding God's plan and the significance of the Abrahamic covenant, highlighting the themes of obedience and faith as represented in both the Old and New Testaments. We look at the parallels with the Beatitudes and God’s call upon Abraham’s life. Abraham’s choices in Genesis 12 stresses the importance of building a solid foundation in faith based on Scripture, contrasting this with the uncertainties of worldly influences – the importance of understanding faith through the lens of biblical narratives, while cautioning against modern misinterpretations. Through Biblical understanding, historical context, personal anecdotes our foundation of faith and reliance on God's Word over worldly influences is then strengthened. God's call, patience, and God’s sanctifying work in Abraham's life, underscores the importance of God’s sovereignty, mankind’s free will, and the role of the Holy Spirit. When our faith is placed solely in God’s promises, the simplicity of the gospel, and the necessity of a personal relationship with Jesus over cultural influences is present the move and work of the Spirit of God are unhindered.
